First, I have to say that this post is everything, less free.
When we make this question, we have to understand what a disease is. If we go to a dictionary, we were found 4 principal means:
1. a disordered or incorrectly functioning organ, part, structure, or system of the body resulting from the effect of genetic or developmental errors, infection, poisons, nutritional deficiency or imbalance, toxicity, or unfavorable environmental factors; illness;
sickness;
aliment.
This definition refers to when a part of our body was incorrectly functioning, but what part of our body was failing in Obesity? The answer is hard, because the obesity is just excess of weight.
So, we have to analyze why people eat until have a excess of weight. This answer is harder than the last one but we can say that the actual paradigm is "carpe diem", you do not worry about the future, you do worry care about tomorrow, you do not worry about your health and this we were killing ourselves. This paradigm could be a disease? Sure. Our brains are not functioning with an objective that allows us to survive, we were against our life and that is a disease, is not a normal disease but if we see another definition, we can understand what I try to say.
2. any abnormal condition in a plant that interferes with its vital physiological processes, caused by pathogenic microorganisms, parasites, unfavorable environmental, genetic, or nutritional factors, etc.
This definition refers to a plant, a plant that their condition interferes with its vital physiological processes. If this definition contents the word human and no plant we would have an idea that how the obesity IS a disease.
This argument serves to say that the majority of our actions have something that a disease, when we contaminate, when we use a car, when we eat in plastic, when we eat meat, almost everything. When we do damage we are shows to the planet how sick are we, because we were killing ourselves and we were killing all around us.

That's an interesting of view of how we can see obesity as an illness, uhm.. makes me think about the limits of how we can consider it as a disease. But something is clear and that's obesity can cause serious problems on our quality of life!
ResponderEliminarI get your point. But still, we cannot be indiferent about obesity.
